learn to cook in the Lake District
The place
Local food heroine Lucy Nicholson has helped put Cumbrian fare on the map. Now this restaurateur; caterer and deli-owner has opened a high-spec cookery school in a converted bobbin factory on the River Kent.
The chefs
Michelin-starred chef Leigh Myles, Lisa Smith of the Ginger Bakers, Diane Dodds (formerly at the Drunken Duck nearby) feature on a list of talented tutors. 'Sourced locally - cooked globally,' says Lucy of her busy roster of classes, which includes Thai and Indian suppers, breads and cooking for kids - something for all your culinary expeditions.
