learn to cook in the Lake District
These unashamedly indulgent afternoon practical courses commence at the civilised time of 2pm.and allow you to create not just cupcake heaven, but two other essential extras at any eventette – chocolate truffles and chocolate-dipped strawberries. It would be extremely rude to not tuck in to one’s sensational strawberries in polite company, but to confirm this train of thought and take away any pang of conscience, LucyCooks has the champagne on ice and will let the bubbles abound as soon as all indulgers have flutes in hand at its big Aga kitchen dining table. Ladies and lads who Lucy recognise that the school’s recipes are worth their weight in gold and the cupcake collection is already acquiring its own prestigious place in LucyCooks’ history. Debutantes on the cupcakes courses will witness ‘the reveal’ of tried and tested recipes, but also watch them being concocted by LucyCooks’ cake queen, Janet Garlick, before having the chance to ice and decorate their own little triumphs. A round of applause will reward anyone who resists devouring their treats during the afternoon. Ladies and gents in this category can depart at 5pm with their head held high, cupcakes and truffles in hand and heaps of knowledge and those oh-so-secret recipes tucked away for future reference. But keep mum: You’re only as god or goddess as the little Lucy secrets you keep and knowledge is flour!
