Afternoon Demo & Taste
If tea is the best drink … then cake definitely has to be the best meal and thanks to the interest in British Baking we have turned Thursdays into ‘The Cake District © Thursdays’ where you can enjoy a leisurely afternoon of demonstration, discussion and delectable delights to enjoy and relish the pleasure of The Art of Afternoon Tea. The Lake District and North West of England are renowned for some of the most innovative and wonderful sweet treats. What better way to while away a Thursday afternoon than to sit and hear the stories that gave birth to particular local delicacies … Westmorland Pepper Fruitcake, Cumberland Dream Cake, Courting Cake, Appleby Ginger, Borrowdale Sticky Banana, and of course Scones with Rum Butter. Do you know the old saying ‘Cake without cheese is like a kiss without a squeeze’? What about the history of spices, molasses and rum in the North West? Join us at LucyCooks Cookery School in the heart of the English Lake District (only10 minutes from J36 on theM6)and delight in the experience of watching us demonstrate the making and baking of a variety of items, followed by a gloriously indulgent spread of cakes, bakes and scones presented on vintage china together with Lakeland Tea.
Cake District Thursdays are the perfect way to enjoy Afternoon Tea with a difference. What better way to meet new friends and gain knowledge of some of our favourite things.
Please call for late availability bookings on this course.
