Family Cookery Day - Creepy Cookery

Childrens Cookery

£125

Daytime Practical Course

Have a Halloween hoot with a difference this October, by heading to LucyCooks Cookery School in Staveley, near Kendal to learn how to have fun with your child in the kitchen, without getting spooked by the mess, the floury finger marks and the scary spillages!

LucyCooks will become LucySpooks for the day as it lays on its Halloween Family Fun Day on Friday 30th October that will banish any grave looks as ghouls, boys, Mums, Dads, Grans and Grandads all learn how to create bowels of pumpkin soup, vamp up some witches’ fingers, or create other magical concoctions.

There will be more than a ghostly rattling of pots and pans in the superbly equipped kitchens, which have low-level work stations for smaller spooks and those who cannot stand to cook.

The full day family fun day course is priced at £125 for one adult and one child recommended age 6 - 16 and starts at 10am and ends at 3.30pm. A variety of dishes will be prepared and the price includes lunch.

These wickedly exciting events book fast, so to stand a ghost of a chance of getting on head to lucycooks.co.uk to book or call .

DURING YOUR DAY:

Our one day courses are designed to be fun hands-on and interactive – whatever your age, experience, or ability.

Arrive at 10.00am and enjoy coffee/juice and a morning snack in the ‘Bubbling Beck’ riverside room…. Meet and chat with those also enjoying a relaxing and informative day at LucyCooks. You will get to meet your chef for the day who will do a short introduction to LucyCooks and let you know the format for your day ahead.

Around 10.30am move upstairs to the fully practical kitchen area – where you will be directed to one of our delightful galley kitchens, each one of which is fully equipped to your specific requirements, with a choice of gas, electric or induction hobs. There are also facilities for those with disabilities and children of varying ages.

Your fully practical course will start with a demonstration by your chef. You will then return to your kitchen, copy what they have shown you as a team and start cooking…..

Lunch is a social affair back in the BubblingBeck… something light and delicious accompanied by a glass of wine for the hard working adults and cold juice for the children.

The Afternoon session is some more watching, learning and doing, with a refreshment break somewhere along the way. By the time you have finished at around 3.30pm, you will have hopefully picked up a few tips and enjoyed a break from your regular routine and spent quiality time working as a team.

We don’t profess to send you out with a diploma on kitchen management and culinary skills, but you will leave with a variety of new skills and inspiration. You will be able to enjoy the fruits of your labours back in the comfort of your own home and be proud of what you have achieved as you get to take all of your goodies home at the end of the day.

Please note we are able to adapt most courses to suit your particular dietary requirements.
